Our Story

We’ve loved every minute of our journey

Since 1958

in 1958, Connie Alti's beloved dance teacher, Violette Bryant Schadler, was lost to breast cancer.  As Miss Violette's oldest, most advanced student, other studio parents encouraged Connie, who was only 18 at the time, to finish the dance year, culminating in an annual dance recital which was just around the corner.  After much convincing, Connie agreed to do so, "Just until I decide what I want to be when I grow up."  Connie and her longtime friend and partner, Ross McDowell, worked hard, studied harder, and the Alti-McDowell School of Dance was born.

A Lifetime of Dance

Connie never did grow up, and now, sixty years, many studio locations, two children, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her own battles with cancer and vision issues, and thousands of students later, she has become the famed Miss Connie of the Connie Cassidy School of Dance, loved by generations of children and parents alike.

Miss Connie still goes to the studio each day, loving nothing better than to see you smile.

Welcome to our dance family

At the Connie Cassidy school of  dance, we strive to be a warm, welcoming place where people of all ages and abilities are welcomed, encouraged and nurtured.  We love to dance and that is what we are eager to share with you.
